No Husband? No Problem?

I am reading an article in the May 2012 Glamour magazine called Do You Still Have Faith in Marriage After All This? We all know the divorce rates in America are pretty high. I'm a divorceè myself and a child of a divorced home. Among 25-29yo 1 in 10 first marriages fail within 5yrs. It seems that those types of statistics are causing less and less people to get married in the first place! From 2009 to 2010 new marriages fell 5%. This is also causing a rise in how many babies are born out of wedlock.

What do you think? Does this mean marriage is becoming outdated? Could it be that people realize you can comment to someone without being married? Even the law recognizes common law marriages where you are together for a certain amount of time and you are "married" for certain purposes...
